I didn't invite you to my birthday party?

Hm. Perhaps things got crossed. At any rate, Arlo, who I do not know, invited me to Court’s birthday party with other people I do not know. And he was very friendly in conversation and enthusiastic about the time I spent in the Prescott bunkhouse. This is unprecedented in my experience.

You are cool […] in your own unique way. But I was also democratically elected to assist you in leading our community. […] Sometimes it is confusing, what we are to each other outside of this.

Whatever it is, luck or something else, may it continue indefinitely.

Neither. The social rules dictating how aldermen should relate to their mayor are more cognizable to me than the rules about how friendships are made and maintained.

We've known each other a little longer than we've been aldermen.

I mean, I get that. I think generally I just try to assume people do like me until they tell me they don't.

I think that approach works for the majority of people. I'm glad.
